Privacy policy

The Growth Grove is Kate Dole's brand and web design studio in Allison, New Brunswick, Canada. When this page says "I", that's me, and I'm the person responsible for the personal information this site collects.

When you send a message through a form on this site: your name, email, what you wrote and which page you sent it from. I use it to reply to you and to keep a record of our conversation. It's sent to me as a notification and stored in a database on Cloudflare.

When you book a call: the details you enter in the booking calendar (name, email, any notes), handled by Cal.com. I use them to hold the call and follow up.

When you join the newsletter: your email address, handled by Buttondown. Every issue has an unsubscribe link.

When you visit: which pages you view, roughly where you're visiting from, your device and browser, and how you arrived (for example, from a Google ad). I use this to see which pages help people and which ads are worth paying for.

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies.

It also uses Google Analytics and Google Ads, which set cookies to measure visits and to tell me when someone who clicked an ad books a call or sends a message. When you send a form or book a call after clicking an ad, your email address may be shared with Google in a scrambled (hashed) form so Google can match the booking to the ad click. Google doesn't get the message you wrote.

If you arrive from a Google ad, the ad's click ID is saved in your browser for up to 90 days and attached to your message or booking, so I can tell Google later whether that click turned into work.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on. Ads personalisation settings are at My Ad Center.

Forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person is sending them.

The services above (Cloudflare, Google, Cal.com, Buttondown) process information on my behalf, and some of them store it outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local law. I don't sell personal information, and I don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires me to.

Messages and booking details are kept for as long as we're talking or working together, and up to seven years after for tax and business records. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.

You can ask what personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email [email protected] and I'll answer within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with my answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
